Application:

With diverse types on the market, different optical brightener agents are developed to fit specific raw materials and production environments. Among them, Optical Brightener Agent BBU stands out as a classic stilbene tetrasulfonic acid type product, which enjoys great popularity in textile and paper industries worldwide. Chemically, it is a water-soluble anionic brightener with excellent comprehensive properties. It boasts outstanding water solubility: around 150 grams can dissolve in one liter of cold water, and the solubility rises to 300 grams per liter in boiling water. Besides, BBU shows strong tolerance to hard water; calcium and magnesium ions in water will not impair its whitening performance. It also features good compatibility with common bleaching agents and reducing agents used in production. As for usage conditions, it delivers the optimal whitening effect in alkaline environments with pH value above 7, while its acid resistance is moderate, so it is not recommended for strongly acidic processing scenarios.
